City Parks

Waverly has six neighborhood parks located throughout the city and one community park on Big Waverly Lake where there is a beach for swimming as well as two boat launches and a separate fishing pier.  There are also several miles of sidewalks and trails throughout the city - all maintained during the summer by the City Public Works Department.  By the end of 2018, the trail system will include a trail on the east side of Big Waverly Lake.

The Parks Commission is responsible for overseeing and coordinating capital development in each of the parks as well as for making recommendations to the Council for changes and improvements.  The Parks Commission is given a capital improvement budget each year for this work.
