American Legion Auxiliary Unit 305

 

The Waverly American Legion Auxiliary Unit 305 has approximately 42 members.


The Auxiliary participates in national and state auxiliary programs, the annual Waverly Memorial Day, Poppy Day, Blue Service Banners, Girls' State, and forms an honor guard for any deceased members' funeral.


They also support local programs including Girls' County, Waverly Summer Recreation, Waverly Boosters, Waverly Royalty, Waverly and Montrose Red Cross bloodmobile, as well as programs for the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted school such as scholarship, after prom, band, Meth Education And Drug Awareness (MEADA), classroom flags, and fourth-grade flag presentation education.


The auxiliary continues to add pictures of local servicemen and women to their collection displayed in the Waverly city offices.


To support its programs, the American Legion and Auxiliary sponsor "Turkey Bingo" each November. They also collect retired flags and have replacements for sale.
