Welcome to Waverly

Welcome to Waverly - the city with "A Rich Past and a Bright Tomorrow" located on Big Waverly Lake just 35 miles west of the Twin Cities area.  Our community of approximately 2,300 is a good place for your family or your business with friendly and welcoming residents and a strong small-town sense of community.

CHANGE IN OFFICE HOURS.  Due to staffing shortage, the city office will be open to the public from 8 am - noon daily until further notice.  We will do our best to answer phones after 12:00 pm but if you do not get an answer please leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.  This is only a temporary situation which should be resolved by late November.  Thank you for your understanding.

UTILITY BILLING ERROR:  If you have an outside (irrigation) meter, billing for that meter is May to October only.  We regret that due to a billing error, those of you with irrigation meters were billed in November for the base rate of $12.00.  This error has been corrected, and your account will be credited for the $12.00.  Do not pay.  We apologize for this and appreciate your understanding.

Truth in Taxation Public Hearing.  The Council will hold the annual Truth in Taxation public hearing at 6:30 pm on December 10, 2024 in the Council room at City Hall.  The Council will review the 2025 budget and levy increase, will take any public comments and then will finalize both.

Compost Hours  As of the week of November 16th, the compost hours will be limited to Saturdays only from 10am - 3pm until the weather no longer permits operation. Open to Waverly City residents only.   The compost location is 6300 1st St. S.
