VILLAGE HALL

The historic Village Hall was constructed in the late 1930's as a WPA project and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Nationally, it is noted as the location where then Senator Hubert H. Humphrey made several speeches when he was running for President of the United States.  Locally, the building is known for its history of big band Saturday night dances and for the many wedding receptions that have been held there since its doors opened in 1940. Today, the Hall still used for wedding receptions, for anniversary parties, family reunions, benefits and other gatherings.  In early February the Hall hosts the annual and well known Lions Fish Fry and in the Fall, the Annual Waverly Volunteer Fireman's Pork Chop Dinner.

 

 Village Hall has two floors.  The main floor includes a Dance Hall area that is 55' x 75' with a 24-foot ceiling.  There is a 43'x17' stage area in the front of the Hall and a bar area in the back.  The lower level includes a kitchen and a smaller meeting room area.  There are 50 6 foot tables and 275 chairs available for use by any renter.  The maximum capacity is 350.

Rental fees are:  

$400 for residents of the City of Waverly + non- refundable $150 Cleaning fee + Gather Guard Insurance
$450 for Non-City residents + non-refundable $150 Cleaning fee + Gather Guard Insurance

You will need to apply for Gather Guard insurance coverage (included in packet) that provides coverage for damages and injury as well as alcohol to be served at your event.  All alcohol must be purchased and served by the Waverly Municipal Liquor Store (MLS).

Family and Individual benefit rentals are $150 plus $150 cleaning fee.
Church services or church special events are $100. per event.
