Veterans Memorial Park
Veterans Memorial Park, (formerly Railroad Park) is on 4.2 acres and is located along the railway on Atlantic Avenue, across from City Hall. The Park is the location for Waverly's Annual Memorial Day Service and is home to the famous Tractor Show held in conjunction with the annual Waverly Daze, that takes place the 2nd weekend of July. The park includes Waverly's memorials to our Veterans - the Veteran's Memorial Wall - as well as a memorial to the Waverly's most famous citizen, Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey. With trees, benches and four picnic tables this is an ideal place for walking or relaxing.
Be sure to check out Waverly's Farmer's Market that is also held in the park every Saturday from Memorial Day through the end of September with local crafts and goodies available for purchase.
This park is also the home of our Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, where the hot chocolate is flowing & kids eagerly wait for the tree to light up!
